The 4th annual HULLABALOO FINALS NIGHT will determine which school has the best poetic chops in all of British Columbia. 2-time Canadian Individual Slam Champion, OpenSecret, will start the evening with a feature set of his award-winning spoken word poetry. Then the top four teams from the preliminary bouts will face off against each other with the 2014 Hullabaloo team championship at stake.
About the feature:
Ikenna ‘OpenSecret’ Onyegbula has represented Ottawa three times at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word, winning the National Slam Team Title back to back in 2009 and 2010. In 2011, he became the inaugural Canadian Individual Poetry Slam Champion; a feat he repeated in 2013. In 2012, he was selected to represent Canada at the World Poetry Slam Championships in Paris, France, where he placed 4th overall. Ikenna is a member of the nationally acclaimed four member spoken word troupe, The Recipe, opening for such acts as K-OS, The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and Arrested Development.
